You may have read in an earlier post about our little bathroom mushroom farm. Well, it was time to harvest mushrooms again and this is I found a whole box of fresh mushrooms this afternoon when I got home from work.I had previously written about the garlic mushroom recipe we use.
Since it’s pretty versatile and dead easy to whip up, I thought I would make it for dinner tonight.
You will need:
- 10 largish mushrooms – sliced thinly (stems and all)
- Butter – 3 to 4 generous tablespoons
- Olive oil
- Garlic – as much as you like – grated
- Parsley
- Dried pizza herb seasoning (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper
Method:
Heat pan, drop half the butter in, while the butter is still melting, add the garlic and stir well on medium low heat. Cook garlic until golden. Add mushrooms and stir well, drizzle of olive oil, cook on medium heat until mushrooms absorb all the fat. Add remaining butter, add pinch of pizza seasoning. Continue cooking mushrooms, eventually they will release the fat back into the pan. This is when you season with salt and pepper.
This makes a great burger filling as well. Enjoy!
