Fried Mantous to serve with my imitation chilli crab 🙂 I used this recipe but dumped all the ingredients into a bread-maker and used the dough only setting. I let the machine knead it for about 20 minutes all up (2 rounds on the machine). The Mantous were great and incredibly easy.
I used my idli trays to steam them (talk about inter-racial marriages!). To fry them, make sure the oil is really hot, drop the cooled steamed mantous and use a laddle to push them into the oil, otherwise they float up. They should brown up pretty quickly. Enjoy!
