Chocolate Orange Almond Cake

This cake is really good for you. Made out of almonds…2 whole oranges and just eggs – no flour, no butter, it’s got all the right vitamins for a healthy breakfast and most importantly it’s good for the soul. We’ll just conveniently ignore the sugar, cream and chocolate in the recipe. After all  my mother taught me, if you have nothing good to say, don’t mention it at all! Beef and Cashew Stir Fry

Another super easy stir fry, great for a mid-week meal. I’ve used capsicum, mushrooms and snow peas to bulk up the dish. Feel free to leave them out or change it up by using vegetables that are in season. I’ve used the Gourmet Garden pastes here as the tubes were on special and worked out a lot cheaper than buying individual ingredients. Omelette with Taleggio Cheese

Can there be anything more comforting than a warm, wobbly, cheese omelette? I think not! You can use any cheese you like, I’ve used Taleggio in this one. Taleggio has a strong aroma, but it doesn’t taste as strong as it smells and melts beautifully. The cheese will continue to ripen in your fridge and will store well for ages. Croissants

We found a little store in Melbourne selling beautiful French unsalted butter in bulk. I’ve caught myself eating slices of butter (like cheese), it’s that tasty! Anyway, I though I better put a stick of butter to good use and decided to give croissants a go. I used this recipe, but cut down on the work by using my breadmaker.
