If you manage to get your hands on some super fresh fish, this is the perfect recipe to try. I used Barramundi fillets, but snapper or any other white-fleshed fish would work as well. It’s a really quick dish to prepare. The flavours are also very simple. But if the fish is really fresh, it will taste incredible. I used this recipe with a few minor changes. This is a great mid-week meal. Literally takes 10 minutes to prepare and the results are fantastic. Continue reading Seared Salmon & Pesto
It’s really difficult to make squid look good on a phone camera (plus I was in a hurry to tuck into my dinner, so I put zero effort into it). You’ll just have to take my word for it, these were awesome! I know they don’t look very appetizing in the picture – but just trust me! Continue reading Grilled Stuffed Baby Squid
I caught the tail-end of a program on TV the other night and it was an interview of a chef. He was going on and on about these garlic noodles and how he desperately needed to steal the recipe. I was so intrigued by it all! The noodles looked so simple, even bland. There was nothing to it. So I did a quick google and found out that he was talking about An’s Garlic Noodles. Continue reading Garlic Noodles
I haven’t been posting much as we’ve been pretty busy with work, visitors, travelling etc. We have also been eating out far too much and last night I decided we really need to cut down on the gluttony. This recipe was really quick to throw together (we always have frozen scallops in our freezer) and the result was better than any gourmet meal. Simple and light, but still very interesting and tasty. Continue reading Scallop Sandwich & Chilli Mayo
If I wasn’t such a pig, I’d say this is the perfect date night meal. It’s elegant and fresh, rich but still light. The plump scallops add a decadent touch to an already incredible dish. But the truth is, this tastes so good I’m usually too busy scoffing it down to pay much attention to romance. In case you’re wondering, Mangy is no better.
I haven’t posted any new recipes in a while because we’ve simply been so flat out with work and family visiting. I have been cooking, but just haven’t had the chance to take the time out to type out recipes. We have also been sick (cough..cold..if you were wondering).
You’re probably thinking I’ve finally lost it! What the #@$@ are smashed prawns?? Well, I’m about to tell you my friends! Continue reading Smashed masala prawns
We haven’t had grilled fish in a long while and when I came across some beautiful pieces of salmon fillets at the local wet market, I couldn’t go past them. If you’re making this recipe in a pan, leave the skin on. I cooked ours up in our barbecue and chose to remove the skin. Either way, the salmon tastes fantastic. Continue reading Soy & Mustard Grilled Salmon
This salad isn’t for the faint hearted! It’s spicy, tangy and super tasty. Very quick to prepare and you can make it a couple of hours in advance. Continue reading Spicy Prawn Salad
